Another Jute Webbing Idea...

Months ago I did a post that shared lots of jute
webbing ideas from around the web.
You may remember some of them...

Well today, courtesy of the c'est Moi Le Shoppe
on Etsy - I found this bit of loveliness...
Oi mee guudness!

Repeatedly Pinned...

Do you have pins that get repinned over and over?
These seem to be my top three...

I have so many other pins that I like better -
but these are the ones that are 'hits'.
What are your most popular pins?

Dresser Project...

It feels so good to complete a project -
especially when you're happy with the results.
This little dresser sits proudly in my booth today -
ready for a new home.
A few weeks ago - it was receiving a few repairs
(i.e. glue & wood filler) and in need of a make over.
(a free pile rescue I had to talk My Love into)
My trusty old book pages were put into service.
They were decoupaged to the drawer fronts and top,
given a bit of glaze and sealed with poly.
  Wanna learn about appendicitis?
This is the dresser for you!
I've seen these done in white - but I'm loving this
'farmhouse' look from keeping the original finish.
Sorry - I forgot to shoot the nice detail on the dresser sides...
I found more projects-in-waiting today.

Store Displays...

I played with dress rack displays at 'my'
thrift shop today.
These racks are free standing and can be viewed from all sides.
I'm just showing you the main front side that the customers see when
they walk in the front door.

My favorite today was this one with the old
baseballs.  Found those little rackets on the store
shelf (don't know what they are) and added them
to the mix.
As always - I work with what I can find on the store shelves.  Loved these straw totes and added some beach themed books.  There are a few pillows
and a beach towel too - why not?
We get a fair amount of apple themed items donated.  While not my favorite - they always go together quick, display well and sell!

What did you do today?

What's For Supper & More...

Don't you love it when you open your Pinterest feed
and suddenly you have supper?  Today I spotted
Quesadilla Casserole - and balla bing - just like that -
it is waiting in my crockpot!
I followed the recipe in the link with these
 substitutions
('cause being thrifty is all about using what you have)
My tortillas are corn (for gluten free)
tomato sauce is my own frozen tomato juice
beans are frozen pinto that I cooked from dried & froze
cheese is American
Do you think it will even taste the same?
Doesn't matter - it will still be good!
Oh - and the recipe uses green chilis which I stocked up on months ago
when I found them 3/$100.
'Twas a fast supper to put together - good thing
since I've got other projects calling my name today!
A scene from yesterday - My Love on his bike.
We took a beautiful Father's Day cycle ride
with perfect weather!

A Day of Touring...

In our local city lies some beautiful sights.
We did a house & garden tour - but I enjoyed
the 'other' photo ops along the way.
This was a favorite entrance that I spotted...
 Lovely...
Great mural on an old building...
In a small alley exists this tiny store structure
 wherein a current business resides...

This was our last 'official' tour stop - just out
of the inner city limits.  Pure perfection.

Thanks for touring with me!

Black & White Tablescape...

My Love and I did a house & garden tour last
weekend.  I found this tablescape in black intriguing.
It was staged on one of the patios...
How about a close up of that wonderful
fabric flower adornment?
 So what do you think?
Too much black or is it instant love?
It's certainly unique!

Between the Pottery Barn Pages...

Recently I picked up a Pottery Barn Bedrooms book...
...for a whole 50 cents!  When flipping through the pages - I saw something familiar...
 See it?  There it is...

It's just like mine... which I found too - for $1!
Funny how the same item can work in two
 very different 'looks'...

Making Tags...

A year or more ago I found a bunch of vintage
manilla tags at a thrift shop for cheap!
I've been having fun customizing them to use
as thank you tags that I send with orders.
(enter homemade decoupage medium again...)
Gotta love old encyclopedia and dictionary pages
for great patina!  When it works - I even try
to match the theme of the tag with the purchase.
Just one old book can go a long way in creating projects.
This is one of my fav projects using this same book -  from a while back...

Iced Mocha Recipe...

This has been my 'go to' drink the last several afternoons...
Found a new location for photo shoots - I like!

 Iced Mocha - oh yeah...
2 c. strong coffee
3/4 c. milk
1 T brown sugar
1/2 t. cocoa powder
Blender till smooth.  Pour over ice.
Or (and I liked this better) - refrigerate - stir well and
serve over ice.
I made me a double batch for several days worth...

Ahhh - Refreshment!
See that gorgeous glass mug?  I'm on a mission to
gather them when out thrifting.  So far I've gathered
all of 1 (I used to see them all the time)...
but it'll give more!

Book Pages Project...

This little file box was once plain brown wood.
I gave it a light sanding and added the old

encyclopedia pages with homemade decoupage.

Available here.
I think it would be a great little box for keeping large price tags (...working on those next.)
Also great for storing cards of ric rac, ribbon & trims.

Reaches To The Clouds...

I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples...
For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens,
And Your truth unto the clouds.
 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
Let Your glory be above all the earth.
Psalms 57:9-11
Was struck by these clouds while traveling in PA
and took this shot out the car window.
God is full of both mercy & truth.
And we can know truth if we are seeking.
To God be the glory!

The Playhouse at Fleur Cottage...

Just some more views from my friend's garden.
Today - let's visit her playhouse...
I think my favorite thing is the little fence
she erected (yes - she...)
I shoulda taken more photos inside.
See the pink pom poms?  They were once
a plastic tablecloth.  Ingenious isn't she?
And all the luscious princess dresses
(they were all yard sale finds)
a little girl's dress-up heaven.
That gorgeous fence...
 A view thru the pergola.
And just for fun - how about a few glimpses of
her deck area which adjoins her home...
curtain hung just for fun - just for that day...
 Gotta love hostas in containers...
Dry stacked brick pillar - a simple DIY
that anyone can do...

She designed this whole back yard herself folks.
Amazing what a girl & her Lord can think up.
